Intern - Corporate Tax Group - Tax & Legal Department

Your business unit:

Our Corporate Tax professionals have extensive experience in advising major foreign and Uzbek companies from the energy and resources, manufacturing, telecommunication, pharmaceutical, trading and other sectors. We can provide your business with the following professional tax services: 

  • Advice on tax legislation and tax implications for certain transactions 
  • Assistance on the establishment, reorganization and liquidation of businesses in Uzbekistan 
  • Services related to the structuring of foreign investment in Uzbekistan 
  • Tax optimization services aimed at taking advantage of tax-planning opportunities and ensuring cost effectiveness and improvement of cash flows with respect to tax issues and risks 
  • Tax reviews of clients’ business activities in Uzbekistan aimed at identifying potential tax risk areas

The role will involve:

  • Working as part of an experienced team on complex tax consultation projects for major Uzbek and multinational companies in all industry sectors 
  • Assisting with audit and due diligence projects for international and local clients

Responsibilities:

  • Researching a range of topics including legislative changes and their impact on businesses
  • Preparing/writing tax recommendations and memorandums across different industries
  • Working on mergers and acquisition projects
  • Responsible for the tax structuring of inbound investments
  • Working with clients on tax planning strategies

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • A desire to learn
  • Graduating students from maths, technical studies, accounting, finance or economics
  • Fluent knowledge of Russian and English (spoken and written); Uzbek is a plus
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Full travel mobility and the right to live and work in Uzbekistan.
